Nasty C: Female Artist of the Year?
The South African Music Awards (SAMA) 2017 nominees have been announced. And Nasty C is by far leading the nominations.
Nasty C might walk away this year with a whopping six SAMA awards!
The rapper’s debut album, Bad Hair Extensions, has earned him a spot in four categories.
He has been nominated for Best Newcomer of the Year, Best Male Artist of the Year, Best Album of the Year and Best Rap Album.
Two of his videos, Don’t Do It and Good Girls, were nominated for Best Music Video of the Year.

But Twitter thought Nasty C was being robbed by SAMA of another nomination. They were convinced that SAMA was maybe trying to pull a Metro FM move.
Remember when Babes Wodumo went home empty-handed earlier this year? Twitter was not taking any chances when it came to their beloved Hell Naw hitmaker.
According to Twitter, Bad Hair Extensions has been nominated for Best Female Artist of the Year. Nasty C now has to compete with Khelly Khumalo and Babes Wodumo for the title.
What’s strange is that SAMA spelt the word ‘Extensions’ as ‘Extentions’ for all of his nominations. The second spelling is actually incorrect.
Twitter came up with a whole lot of theories to explain why Nasty C was nominated as a female. They believed Mabala Noise records was buying awards, again.
We all know Nasty C will win the female artist of the year award because Mabala noise makes things happen😂😂😂😂

Did Mabala Noise buy Nasty C the Best Female Artist nomination because it was on special what?. #sama23

Nasty C cleared any confusion by posting a tweet that explained everything.

So the picture of the nomination was photoshopped and Nasty C has a female alter ego.
It all makes sense now.
